Why You Should Hire a Day-of-Planner
What is a day of coordinator?
They coordinate the logistics of your wedding day ensuring everything that you planned runs how you envisioned. From the arrival times of the caterer, florist, DJ, travel timelines, to packing all your gifts and goodies at the end of the night, the day-of coordinator will take care of it all. Let’s be clear, they should be known more as month-of-coordinators because their responsibilities should really kick-in about a month out. Although they will be talking to you before then, their communication level will really pick up around a month out as well with everyone involved in your wedding.
What types of couples should hire a day of planner?
Couples doing their own planning should definitely hire a day-of-planner. You’ve already done enough work; ensure it all makes sense and is stress free by hiring a planner for your day. Typically full-service planners will include day-of planning in their services.
What are some questions you should ask when interviewing planners?
• What sort of hours will you be working on the day?
• What kind of tough situations have you worked through and how did you deal with them?
• Ask about past wedding clients and how they helped them on day of planning.
• What sets you apart from other planners?
What is the difference between a venue coordinator and a day-of-planner?
A lot of venue coordinators may sound like they do everything a day-of-planner does, but often their responsibilities fall short of that of a planner. Be sure to ask a venue coordinator what they do and what they won’t do. A venue coordinator will usually leave earlier than a planner and they won’t reach out to a limo driver or be there to help resolve an issue with attire.
